Agencies that start to plateau?

One of my fellow bloggers wrote about how to manage your clients when they start to plateau. Working in-house and with many different agencies made me wonder how best to manage them when they start to plateau …?

The perception is that the agency is the one to come up with new campaigns and ideas. But, what happens when the agency takes on bigger clients and your work gets pushed to the back? Or starts to feel that they know best and no longer have to listen to the client?

I was once in a situation where an agency employee sent a very rude email to the Chairman of the organization I was in complaining about a decision that had been made. Needless to say, it was not the start of a long and fruitful relationship!

So, to all those in agencies out there; please remember that not all clients are fickle with short memories. Some of us want to have long working relationships with you – so please don’t get tired of us either!

And to my fellow blogger, I really like the word ‘plateau’ by the way!
