When in doubt, be transparent

Palin and Obama

By no means am I endorsing one candidate over the other.

For me, transparency is the best policy and I must commend Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin on coming clean about her pregnant 17-year old daughter. Other candidates in the past may have done their best to point the public’s attention elsewhere. Instead, it is rumored that her daughter and boyfriend will be attending the GOP convention.

As a result, instead of most people reacting negatively to the news of the pregnancy, more are showing support. Even evangelicals seem to be energized by it.

Additionally, praise must be given to Sen. Barack Obama for “calling off the dogs,” aka the media, and asking them to respect the privacy of the Palin family. Whether or not reports of Obama’s camp attacking Sen. John McCain’s campaign behind the scenes are true, it was a strong PR counter move.

How much this PR move of transparency will affect the McCain/Palin ticket remains to be seen.  If it isn’t an exciting election already, this latest development just turned up the excitement knob.

  1. I’m sorry - but your blog is just not compelling or different enough to make me want to return.

    Good luck, anyhow.
